Proper form is key to many aspects of our life. When starting a workout program, many people think they can go to the gym and simply use logic to get a good workout.

I find it is very important to use proper form in exercise as with many aspects of our lives.  Often, when we are doing our exercises we get tired or lazy and don’t maintain correct form and alignment.

In the picture on the left,  you see Christie, of FIT205 making two corrections on my form during back extensions.  She is making sure I am keeping my elbows back to keep the effort on my back.  She is also signaling my back to contract and do the work so I am not using other muscles to raise my upper torso.

By the way, I felt great after the workout and my back  structure remained in tact.
