Dallas Health Helpers is focused on a whole person approach to wellness. This includes psychotherapy services when needed. Robert P. Roton, Jr. (Bob), M.A. LPC is our licensed professional counselor. Bob provides individual, couples, and group psychotherapy for adults. His experience has been with depression, chemical dependency/substance abuse, grief and loss, life transitions, anxiety, and career issues. He describes his therapeutic style as compassionately confronting and encouraging. Bob offers clients ways to open their thinking to alternative solutions to life situations and helps clients make healthy choices to reach their goals through a collaborative working relationship.
Bob received his Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Amberton University in Garland, Texas and his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Texas A&M in Commerce, Texas. In addition to his private practice, Bob works part time as a chemical dependency program counselor at Baylor All Saints Medical Center in Ft. Worth, Texas. Bob also worked at Dallas Metrocare Services (MHMR) for 4 years providing individual and group rehab and counseling services to individuals challenged with schizophrenia, bipolar, and major depression disorders.
Prior to launching his career as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Bob spent 25 years in the computer industry as a development and technical manager. As a manager Bob successfully facilitated and developed a number of teams to meet project and company objectives by providing mentoring, coaching, career counseling, and conflict
management.
